Sichuan University has successfully carried out its first year’s work duty under the Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window Lot 14 (EM ECW) by not only sending nearly 20 Chinese students to study in Europe, but receiving 3 European exchange students who have embarked on their academic, cultural, and social life at SCU. These 3 European students are currently studying Chinese History, Finance, and Chinese Culture respectively at the History Department, European Studies Center and School of Overseas Education.
In order to streamline and facilitate the reception of exchange students, Professor Jian SHI, Vice-President of SCU, held a jointly coordination meeting with incoming European exchange students, their academic advisors as well as various staff members from International Office, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School and European Studies Center. They discussed a wide range of related issues.
The meeting reviewed both the achievements and difficulties during the execution of the project over the past year, as well as the experience and lessons they could draw on for future reference. Candid and constructive suggestions and solutions concerning issues of inter-divisional nature were put forward by those present. Finally, this meeting reached consensus on the administration and education of incoming and outgoing graduate students, which was beneficial to the execution and expansion of future projects.
