中心主任、让·莫内讲座教授石坚博士利用出席中英高教人才培养会议之际，3月28-29日期间， 访问了英国谢菲尔德大学政治系，并会见系主任,以及让·莫内讲座教授Simon Bulimer博士。

Simon Bulmer教授曾于2007年8月受邀访问四川大学欧洲问题研究中心，当时他在英国曼切斯特大学政治系任教，与中心合作执行ESCP项目，并热情接待了中心执行ESCP项目到曼切斯特大学政治系访问的两名研究员。后Simon Bulmer教授转到谢菲尔德大学政治系任教。

此次时隔三年，两位教授的再次会面，为进一步加强两校间的合作打下基础。Simon Bulimer教授希望能与中心继续加强合作与交流，并期待能尽快建立、扩大校际、系际间的学术合作。

Professor Shi Jian, Director of ESC and Jean Monnet Chair Professor, visited University of Sheffield and had meetings with Prof. Dr. Simon Bulimer of Political Science, Jean Monnet Chair Professor, and the Dean of Arts and Science of the university in March 28-29 during the time when he attended BC annual conference in London.

Prof. Dr. Simon Bulimer had been invited to visit the ESC of Sichuan University in August, 2007 when he was a professor of political science in University of Manchester. Prof. Dr. Bulimer had been working in collaboration with the ESC of Sichuan University in the ESCP Programme and hosted two visiting scholars of ESCP from Sichuan University. Prof. Dr. Bulimer is now in the Department of Political Science, the University of Sheffield.

The meeting of the two Jean Monnet chair professors in three years has strengthened the collaboration between the two universities.? Prof. Simon Bulimer hopes to make his contribution to the further cooperation between the ESC of Sichuan University and his department, and then build up a further faculty to faculty and university to university collaboration between Sichuan University and the University of Sheffield.?
