From May 7 to May 8 the European Studies Centre of Sichuan University and ESC of Renmin University of China jointly hosted the Sino-European Workshop: “The EU after the Lisbon Treaty: Opportunities and Challenges.” About 50 domestic scholars and 20 scholars from European academic institutions, such as Warsaw School of Economics, Essex University, San Pablo University, Belgian Royal Institute of International Relations, and Free University Amsterdam, participated in the two-day workshop.
The Opening Ceremony was chaired by Professor Feng DUAN, Deputy Director of ESC of SCU. Three distinguished participants addressed the audience. They were Professor Jian SHI, Vice President of Sichuan University and Jean Monnet Professor, Professor Huilin YANG, Vice President of Renmin University of China, Professor Jose Maria Beneyto, Director of ESC of San Pablo University in Spain and Jean Monnet Professor. The Keynote-Speech Session in the morning was chaired by Professor Jian SHI. Four Jean Monnet Professors: Dr. Emil Kirchner from Essex University, Dr. Kawecka-Wyrzykowska from Warsaw School of Economics, Dr. Sven Biscop from Belgian Royal Institute of International Relations and Dr. Xinning SONG from Renmin University of China addressed the conference. Their topics ranged from EU economy to politics to diplomacy.
From the afternoon of May 7 to the morning of May 8, six panel meetings were held based on six topics: 1. EU-China Relations; 2. European social and economic governance; 3. EU strategy 2020: Does the Lisbon Treaty help make the EU more competitive? 4. The UK general election and UK-EU; 5. The EU Multi-cultural diversity and integration; 6. The political and economic diplomacy of the EU.
This academic workshop was privileged by the presence of several Jean Monnet Professors, which is not common in domestic workshops. Their presence not only brought the audience the newest research perspectives in European Studies, but enhanced the mutual understanding and view-exchanges among Chinese and European scholars.
由四川大学欧洲问题研究中心和中国人民大学欧洲问题研究中心联合举办的中欧学术研讨会“《里斯本条约》生效后的欧盟:机遇与挑战(The EU after the Lisbon Treaty: Opportunity and Challenges)”于2010年5月7-8日在四川大学望江校区举行。来自波兰华沙经济大学、英国埃塞克斯大学、西班牙圣帕博罗大学、比利时皇家国际关系研究所、阿姆斯特丹自由大学、西班牙Casa Asia Madrid、布鲁塞尔自由大学、比利时亚欧项目办公室、伦敦经济学院、英国利兹大学等二十余位欧洲学者,以及来自中国人民大学、中国社科院、复旦大学、北京大学、中央党校、中国政法大学、外交学院、华东师范大学、南京大学、山西大学、山东大学、宁夏大学、河北师范大学、河北经贸大学、中央编译局、中国国际问题研究所、人民日报社和四川大学、西南民族大学等国内高校和研究机构的五十余位专家学者研究生等参加了为期两天的研讨会。
会议开幕式由四川大学欧洲问题研究中心副主任段峰教授主持,四川大学副校长、欧盟让·莫内讲座教授石坚博士、中国人民大学副校长杨慧林教授、西班牙圣帕博罗大学欧洲研究所主任、欧盟让·莫内讲座教授José Maria Beneyto 博士分别在开幕式上致辞。石坚副校长主持了7日上午的主题演讲会,来自埃塞克斯大学的欧盟让·莫内讲座教授Emil Kirchner博士、华沙经济大学副校长、欧盟让·莫内讲座教授Kawecka-Wyrzykowska博士、比利时皇家国际关系研究所、欧盟让·莫内讲座教授Sven Biscop博士、以及欧盟让·莫内讲座教授、中国人民大学欧洲问题研究中心的宋新宁博士分别就欧盟的经济、政治、外交等做了大会主题演讲。各位让·莫内讲座教授的演讲获得与会来宾的热烈欢迎,纷纷称赞是难得的高水平发言。
5月7日下午和8日上午,会议就“中欧关系”、“欧盟社会与经济治理”、“欧盟2020年战略:里斯本条约有助于让欧盟更有竞争力吗?”、“英国大选和英国与欧盟的关系”、“欧盟文化多样性与一体化”、“欧盟的政治与经济外交”等六个专题进行了小组讨论。专家学者们对上述问题各抒己见,进行了广泛深入的讨论和交流。
此次研讨会能集中中欧多位让·莫内讲座教授,在国内学术研讨会上并不多见,他们的与会不仅带来欧洲研究领域一些新的重要的研究视角,同时也积极扩大了中国欧洲研究学者与这些让·莫内讲座教授以及其他欧洲学者的交流,为中、欧高校和研究机构之间的学术交流提供了良好的平台,增进了中、欧高校和研究机构之间的相互了解,为国内欧洲研究更深入的发展做出了积极贡献。
