The ESC Graduate Forum held on the afternoon of May 10 was a meaningful and fruitful dialogue between Sino-European scholars and PhD candidates of SCU. Mr. Tianqin YAN and Ms. Ya XIE, both of whom were PhD students in European Studies, and Mr. Cheng LU who specialized in European Economy made presentations on their respective field, especially on the topics they would undertake as exchange students to Europe. Their presentations illustrated their topic selection, research purpose and methodology.
Mr. Yan discussed the importance and impact of several treaties including Lisbon Treaty on the European integration. Ms. Xie, on the other hand, stressed the role of ethnic minority and women in the integration process. Mr. Lu, who was just about to go to Sabanci University in Turkey, shared his thoughts on the possible contribution of Turkey as an EU candidate state to future European integration.
After the presentations, Chinese and European scholars present made detailed and constructive evaluations by pointing out areas of improvement, feasible suggestions for each of the three students. This forum offered audience a valuable experience in conducting research.
The European Studies Center of SCU has successfully held Graduate forums for two consecutive years so far in celebration of the Europe Day. This year’s event was privileged by the presence of several professors from our European partner university. Their participation this year would enhance our mutual understanding and academic excellence. The European Studies Center of SCU would continue to provide high quality forum in the coming years and welcome the participation of postgraduate students in related fields.

5月10日下午，在中心会议室举行的2010年四川大学欧洲研究方向<研究生论坛>是中欧学者与我校博士研究生的一次成功对话。研究欧洲文化的我校博士研究生严天钦、谢娅以及研究欧洲经济的路征同学分别就他们所研究或即将赴欧洲开展的研究课题做了深入介绍。从选题、研究目的和研究方法等方面作了阐述。严天钦同学对自己正在研究的多项条约在欧洲一体化发展中的重要性以及欧盟宪法对未来欧洲一体化的深入发展的作用进行了重点讨论，并就‘契约文化’在经济政治一体化进程中的潜在意义交换了自己的观点。谢娅同学对欧洲一体化中的少数民族问题以及女性的重要角色进行讨论。路征同学即将赴土耳其萨班哲大学进行交流学习，他介绍了自己将集中研究土耳其作为欧盟候选国、在未来欧洲一体化发展中的作用等方面的思考。
基于这些同学的发言，与会的中、欧学者进行了详细点评，在指出不足和存在的问题的同时，也给出了中肯的修改意见，在研究视点的切入、研究方法的选用等方面对三位同学都积极提出了切实可行的建议。几位博士生感觉机会难得、受益匪浅，对其即将进入的研究或未来将要发展的研究都有不可估量的积极意义。

交流，邀请他们参加论坛实质是让他们也了解我中心相关方向研究生培养现状，使未来的交流与合作更有实质性的进展。来访的欧洲学者对这样的讨论形式高度赞扬。中心将再接再厉，继续办好每年的研究生论坛，也欢迎相关方向的研究生积极参与，中心将一如既往地位师生提供良好的学术交流平台。
