From November 13 to 15, The 2009 Annual Meeting of Chinese Association for European Studies was held in the scenic coastal city of Xiamen. This meeting, on the theme “China and Europe in the Wake of Financial Crisis”, was organized by the Chinese Association for European Studies (CAES) and co-organized by Xiamen University. Director of European Studies Center of SCU and executive member of CAES, Professor Jian SHI participated in the annual meeting by invitation. Association member Dr. Yamei WANG and researcher at ESC, Professor Zhuyu LI submitted articles when attending the meeting. Experts in EU-related fields from more than 40 academic and research institutions nationwide joined this meeting. Around 110 research papers were collected during the two-day meeting.

The opening ceremony was jointly presided by Secretary-General of CAES Xin Chen and Director of ESC of Xiamen University. Four other scholars made keynote speeches respectively on the Status Quo of European Economy and Politics, Europe Under the Impact of Financial Crisis, Collective Diplomacy and Security Policy After Lisbon Treaty. During the two-day meeting, panel discussions were held under the topics of European Politics, Economy, Diplomacy (particularly policies tackling global climate change) and Sino-European Relation. The heated discussion and debate demonstrated Chinese scholars’ keen interest in and unique perspective on EU-related issues. Members of the annual meeting also passed resolution modifying the charter of CAES.

中国欧洲学会2009年年会于2009年11月13日-15日在美丽的海滨城市厦门举行。本次年会由中国欧洲学会主办、厦门大学协办，年会主题为“金融危机下的中国与欧洲”。 四川大学欧洲问题研究中心主任、中国欧洲学会常务理事石坚教授受邀出席了此次年会。学会理事王雅梅博士和中心研究员李竹渝教授提交了研究论文也同时参加了本次年会。来自中国社科院、上海社科院、中国人民大学、北京大学、南开大学、复旦大学、同济大学、厦门大学、四川大学、中国政法大学、厦门理工学院等40多所高校和研究机构的近百余位欧盟经济、政治和社会以及中欧关系等领域的专家学者出席了本次年会。会议共收到110余篇研究论文。

会议开幕式由中国欧洲学会秘书长陈新和厦门大学欧洲研究中心主任吴建平共同主持。上海社科院的伍贻康研究员、中国社科院的江时学研究员、复旦大学的戴炳然教授和中国人民大学的宋新宁教授分别就欧洲经济政治现状、国际金融危机冲击下的欧洲、里斯本条约下的共同外交与安全政策、转型中的中国-欧盟关系四个方面作了主题发言。两天的会议紧张、有序，来自全国各地的代表就欧洲政治、欧洲经济、欧盟外交（包括其应对全球气候变化政策）和中欧关系进行了小组专题讨论，代表们各抒己见，讨论热烈，并就一些热点问题充分表述各自的观点，显示出我国学者对欧洲问题研究的高度关注，且有独特的视角来观察分析问题。

年会代表还表决通过了学会章程的修改。学会常务理事会通报了下届年会筹办等相关信息。
