4月8日下午，参加“欧盟科技人才培训项目（STFP）”首期培训的30名来自欧洲各国高校和研究单位的优秀青年科研人员来我中心进行交流访问。中心主任、四川大学副校长、欧盟让·莫内讲座教授石坚博士接见了全体来访人员，并向他们介绍了四川大学、四川大学欧洲问题研究中心的发展状况，以及中心与欧洲学者合作交流的情况。四川大学外事处、欧洲问题研究中心部分研究员、建环学院、经济学院、外国语学院、文学与新闻学院、吴玉章学院的部分青年教师和研究生参加了此次学术交流活动。

首批来华执行项目的这些青年学者，对石坚教授介绍的四川大学在环境保护、医学、生命科学和工程等方面的项目的发展表示出极大兴趣，提出了不少感兴趣的问题。石坚教授、建环学院、海外教育学院等单位的老师就相关问题一一作答，并表示了将积极参与中欧科研学者交流、加强中欧科技长期合作的愿望。

石坚教授最后欢迎欧洲青年学者来四川大学进行科研合作、学术交流，学校和中心都将提供积极的支持与合作。

On the afternoon of 8 April 2009, thirty outstanding young researchers from European universities and research institutes, who participated in the first phase of the training of Science and Technology Fellowship Programme China (STFP), visited European Studies Centre, Sichuan University. Dr. Shi Jian (Vice President, Director of the European Studies Centre and Jean Monnet Chair Professor, Sichuan University) warmly welcomed all visitors and introduced the development of Sichuan University and European Studies Centre, and the academic cooperation and exchanges between the Centre and European scholars. Some young teachers, graduates and research fellows from International Office of SCU, European Studies Centre, College of Overseas Education, College of Architecture and Environment, College of Economics, College of Foreign Languages and Cultures, College of Literature and Journalism, and Wu Yuzhang College participated in this academic exchange activity.

Dr. Shi Jian introduced Sichuan University’s projects in environmental protection, medical science, life science and so on. Theses young researchers involved in the first phase of the training of STFP showed their great interest in these projects, and raised a lot of interesting questions which were answered by Dr. Shi Jian and teachers from various colleges one by one. Both sides expressed that they would like to actively participate in the EU-China research and academic exchanges, and to strengthen EU-China long-term cooperation in science and technology.

Finally, Dr. Shi Jian said that Sichuan University welcomes Europe young scholars to do cooperative scientific researches and academic exchanges, and both Sichuan University and the Centre will provide active supports and cooperation.
